What sets us apart from other Benalla motels, is all the space we have.  Not just a cramped concrete jungle of carpark.  Our attractively landscaped grounds are a great spot to relax under the shade of an umbrella, with a group, or by yourself.  There is plenty of room to enjoy a group bbq or simply read a book.  This is often a rarity in motel properties.

We also have loads of secure off-street car parking - for cars and trailers alike.  One carspace at your individual room door, however there is also loads of room to u-turn vehicles at the rear of the carpark area and to park there.  

The Glider City Motel is ideally situated 600 metres from the hustle and bustle of the town centre. Simply take a short leisurely stroll to enjoy all that Benalla has to offer.  The Glider City Motel is a relaxing spot to enjoy the fresh country air. 

Benalla certainly will not disappoint either, with its many and varied attractions to suit all comers.  

Stroll around Benalla's famous rose gardens, or along the boardwalk around the lake, taking in the Sir Edward 'Weary' Dunlop Memorial and the Benalla Art Gallery as you go.  

For the history buffs there is the legend of Ned Kelly and his famous route, located within the Benalla Visitor Information Centre.  These attractions are all within 1.5km of the Glider City Motel, and all within a few hundred metres of each other.  

For the wine buff, Benalla has several top class local wineries also within a short drive.  The King Valley / Oxley/Milawa cheese and wine region is within 20 minutes, with Rutherglen (wine) approx 30 minutes away, driving through Wangaratta.  For something closer (15 min), check out local wineries around Glenrowan - Baileys of Glenrowan being one - where you can join in on the Ned Kelly trail also.  

Atrractive to the car enthusiast is Winton Motor Raceway, where there are regularly held events - whether a car club, the V8 Supercars circus, or as part of the national racing circuit.  

If something more high-flying and adventurous is what you crave, the Benalla Gliding Club and the Gliding Club of Victoria is located nearby to us.  Take a scenic flight or even learn how to glide.  

Of course, you may choose to simply take time out and relax within our motel grounds.  You choose - from our secure and welcoming pool area, the great, grassy, group barbeque area, or simply your individual motel room, which has all the modern comforts that you would expect from a quality motel establishment.
